South Interstate I‑215 Project

Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta to Scott Road north of Murrieta

Construction began in spring 2011 to widen Interstate 215 between Murrieta Hot Springs Road in Murrieta and Scott Road north of Murrieta. This is the southernmost section of RCTC’s 29.25-mile freeway widening plans between I‑15 and State Route 60.

The project will add one general purpose lane to both northbound and southbound I‑215, creating three lanes in each direction. Work will occur within the existing freeway median, which will reduce the project's impact on the community. Construction is expected to last about 16 months.
