Justice for All Session 5 – The Tipping Point

spacer

Several weeks after the encounter with the Exiles, Paskal runs through the town, calling a town meeting. Roland is about to reveal the true nature of the Umbra to the gathered masses. His message will trigger the wrath of the Exiles. Nachsun stands on the brink of civil war. Diplomacy is impossible.

Nachsun’s choice is clear: wait for war to come to their doorstep, or travel to Vaden and slay the Exile King. The final battle looms. The fate of the Umbra hangs in the balance. Things are sliding. The tipping point will come soon.

Before I even comment on the session itself, I just want to say I have seen no evidence in this session, or any previous session, that Roland has been an apprentice to Niklas. Unless Niklas smacking him sometimes counts as an apprenticeship? But then he would be master to half the island. I mean, I was trying to just ignore the character descriptions, but he was in every LeJeune’s game, too, and it never changes. It is breaking my brain. I mean, I can sort of overlook that Uszhi has graduated and her description hasn’t changed. But I must speak up. It is too much. I am sorry.

Other than that, though, I really liked the episode. Definitely like the first part of a two-part finale for a show. The only way to make it more like it is, next session, reiterate some of it but with slightly different dialogue, maybe different camera angles, or even different takes.

Y’know, I think Roland being Niklas’ apprentice was MAYBE alluded to during the first session of Justice for All, and was quickly dropped. The point is, YOU’RE RIGHT! YOU FOUND THE SECRET HIDDEN ERROR! YOU WIN OUR GRAND PRIZE!

The grand prize is the loathing and derision of non-pedants everywhere, isn’t it? spacer
