Most of us will suffer from a lack of confidence at some point in our lives however for many, a lack of confidence can be a serious problem which affects many areas of an individuals life. In extreme cases, lack of confidence and low self esteem can lead to anxiety, depression and/or social phobia.
Lack of self esteem or confidence exists due to the negative thougths and feeling we have about ourselves, our 'self talk'. These thougths or beliefs are usually formed during our childhood years when we tended, usually wrongly, to believe what we were told. Unfortunately these beliefs stay with us into adulthood and become part of the person we are today.
