Stimulating…extraordinary…performance…
hÅb is a production and development organisation based in Manchester, UK, founded in 1996. Specialising in contemporary performance, live art and sited intervention, often working with regional, emergent artists.
hÅb co-produces a range of initiatives, chiefly for emergent artists, with greenroom, Manchester’s ‘theatre like no other”. From emergency, an annual platform for new work now in its 12th year, which presents up to 40 short pieces in a day and half each September/October, and the new ‘poolside emergency through Method Lab, and SeedFund a series of small commissions for new work to In Transit a regional touring project produced by LANWest, we hope to offer a joined-up approach to the early stages of an artist’s development. In 2009 we started co-producing Turn and the Turn Prize with greenroom and Dance Initiative Greater Manchester  a series of opportunities for North West dancers and dancemakers.
hÅb works as a curator of sited performance and intervention presenting, Hazard, a biennial microfestival of intervention, taking performance out of the black box environment and into Manchester city centre and Up the Wall, a site specific festival curated with Chester Performs. In any given year, hÅb might work with 200 artists, present 3 platforms, 2 sited festivals and show over 100 pieces of work.
