74/215 Interchange Project

spacer The Riverside County Transportation Commission and its project partners began reconstruction of the 74/215 interchange in Perris in mid-2010. Work is expected to take about two years to complete. The project will construct a new eight lane bridge over Interstate 215 and include improvements to freeway on-ramps and off-ramps, local streets and intersections.

RCTC, the agency responsible for transportation in Riverside County and the administrator of Measure A, Riverside County’s half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements, completed environmental studies in 2007 and final design in late 2009.

When the project is completed, it will improve traffic flow, safety, police and fire response times, access to local businesses and to downtown Perris, and connections to both north and south I-215. The project also will accommodate the future widening of I-215 in this area.

Project safety is RCTC’s top priority. Please note that the speed limit on I-215 in this area has been reduced to 55 miles per hour. Traffic fines are increased in construction areas. Please click here for additional safety tips.
