January 3rd: Roadburn Audio Streams vault temporarily locked due to 3voor12 site overhaul

The Vpro 3voor12 site recently underwent a complete overhaul. Consequently, the links to the many live recordings from past editions of the Roadburn festival have been rendered obsolete. All of the audio streams on the 3voor12 site will be down for at least a week. Next, we must undertake the task of updating some 250 (!) links. Please bear with us. We will let you know as soon as the links are working again.

Good things happen at Roadburn. Sometimes all at once. Arguably, this edition of Roadburn had an unprecedented number of those pesky “YES! and nooo” moments, such as: “YES! Acid King’s triumph return to the Main Stage! Nooo: gotta get to the Bat Cave early to catch Zoroaster.” This year may have had the craziest Bat Cave jams in the history of the festival. Musical jams – YES! Traffic jams – nooo.

If you were there, these painful clashes and traffic jams were most likely soon forgotten as the overall bliss of the moment proved more than adequate balm. Back home, however, with more and more stellar reviews and tantalizing clips materializing from those shows you did not have a chance to see, the Roadburn version of phantom pain set in.

Not to make you feel bad, of course, but if you weren’t at the festival then you missed out on more than part of Trap Them’s set in an attempt to try to catch some of Hooded Menace and get back to the Bat Cave again for Grave Miasma: you didn’t get to see any of them!

Have no fear, thanks to the intrepid Roadburn sound engineers and VPRO 3voor12, which is the finest cultural media network in the Netherlands, everyone can enjoy a number of excellent performances from Roadburn Festival 2011. Without interruption!  In the end, we have fifty six bands captured in all of their Roadburn glory geared up and ready to go. Burn on!
