27/07/2011 – We have reached over $23,000 in sales via Paypal while the first quarter of iTunes sales have raised over $7,000. Thank you to everyone who has bought, donated more and spread the word. Please do not stop.

A note on payments – In an effort to ensure clarity and transparency to anyone who has already donated or is thinking of donating we have made available the receipts for the first three payments to the Japanese Red Cross from money raised via sales of Nihon Kizuna. You can view the receipts here (£7,420 or $12,000 via bank transfer), here ($5,000 via paypal) and here ($1660 via paypal). A fourth payment for $1,000 was made in June 2011.

These receipts show that over $20,000 have been paid to the Japanese Red Cross from Bandcamp sales. The difference between total sales (over $23,000) and total donations (over $20,000) is due to the fees levied by both Bandcamp and Paypal for use of their respective services. Money from iTunes sales is being paid directly to the Japanese Red Cross by our distributor, One Peace. Payments will continue to be made at regular intervals from money raised via both Paypal and iTunes.

Having reached $20,000 in donations we’ve made available a bonus album featuring 34 tracks that didn’t make it first time round. It’s free to download or pay what you want. All proceeds will continue to go to the Japanese Red Cross. You can download it here.

As of 2h after sales started Bandcamp have very kindly dropped their 15% revenue share of all sales to 10% meaning more money can be passed to Japan Red Cross.
