Vamplit Publishing Submission Contact Form and Guidelines

Submission is by invitation from query letter and synopsis. Your submission will be considered if you are a new author who would like us to publish and distribution your novel as an ebook.  All our services are completely free and include artwork and substantive editing as well as formatting for eBook and paper copies. Royalty payments start at 30% of net receipts for ebooks depending on the level of editing necessary.

Use the contact form below, in the first instance, if you have a horror, vampire, Gothic, fantasy paranormal romance or crime novel, novella, short story or poems you would like us to consider for publication as an ebook.  When we reply, we will ask you to send us a query letter, a brief synopsis of your manuscript and the first three chapters or a selection of short stories or poetry. Your query letter should contain your name, your age, the title and a very brief plot outline. Before contacting us make sure you read our submission guidelines as you may find them helpful or read one of our published ebooks as they will show you exactly the quality and content we are looking for.

At Vamplit Publishing read every single manuscript sent to us and will contact you if your novel fulfils our publishing criteria.  However there may be a long delay as we have a large volume of submission and if you are concerned send us a message via our contact form. We do not accept multiple submission, this means if your novel is awaiting review with another publisher please wait until you’ve heard from that publisher before submitting.  We read every manuscript sent to us from beginning to end and as this is a time consuming process we would appreciate your cooperation.

We are still accepting submission of novella’s in all genres.

Novellas should be between 10,000 and 40,000 words and you should follow the submission guidelines bellow.

Submission Guidelines

Vamplit Publishing is no longer accepting submission of unsolicited manuscripts, but we ask that you submit a query letter using our contact form. The query letter should include a word count and pertinent facts about yourself as a writer, including your age and your particular interest in genre fiction. We will then contact you via email and ask for a brief synopsis of your story that gives a clear idea of your plot and character development, a single A4 page is enough and the first three chapters of you novel or novella. If you are submitting a short story or poetry collection, please email a representative selection of your work. Should your manuscript be accepted, please note the following information.

Submission Guidelines

1. Vamplit Publishing publishes only Gothic, vamplit, horror, fantasy, paranormal romance sci-fi and mystery fiction in ebook format. Please do not submit any other type of fiction or non-fiction.

2. All material should be the author’s own original work. Stories that contain scenes or plot lines that are very similar to previously published work are in breach of copyright law and are not acceptable.

3. All queries should be made through our website contact form and all submissions should be emailed as a Microsoft Word .doc or .docx attachment. Please include a title page that has the title of your novel, your real name, your pen name, address and email address on the top left hand corner of you title page.

4. All manuscripts will be read, but as volume is high please be patient, we will contact you when we’ve read your work. Please do not email regarding your manuscript, unless you have a specific point to make. You will be notified by email as soon as your work has been reviewed. Argeement to review does not equate to agreement to publish.

5. We do not accept manuscripts that are being considered by another publisher. We do not accept multiple submissions, this is where the author submits to more than one publisher at a time, also known as simultaneous submission. A literary agent is not necessary in order to submit to us. We offer a standard author agreement.

6. These submission guidelines are to help you in understanding our publishing criteria. However, there is be no better way to determine what we are looking for than reading ebooks by our authors. We also run a writers group and many of our published authors contribute there.

7. We offer the same contract to all authors and a copy of our author contract is available here for authors to read.

8. Because we do read every manuscript sent to us the time between being sent a manuscript and acceptance or rejection of a novel is fairly long and drawn out. If you are concerned and haven’t heard from us please contact us and we will tell you exactly where your manuscript stands in our list. If you are offered a contract to publish your novel, depending on the amount of work needed, you will be working one on one with a professional editor that will aim to publish your novel within eight to ten weeks, however we believe it is better to get it right than get it done quickly. We substantively, rather than copy edit, novels and the time scale can be longer depending how much work a manuscript needs.

9. Although we do publish novels suitable for an adult audience, we do not consider any material that contains sexual torture, cruelty or any kind of abuse of children. We will not consider any manuscript that incites hatred or violence and if submitted it will be rejected without hesitation. We believe there is a line and we will not cross it.
