2012 CFC Training Announced by OPM
Registration FormSchedule at a Glance
Dear Local Federal Coordinating Committees (LFCCs) and Principal Combined Fund Organizations (PCFOs):
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign Training (February 28 March 2, 2012) and the final CFC-50 Commission meeting on March 2, 2012, both in San Antonio, TX.
The training will bring together members of LFCCs, PCFOs, and CFC participating agencies to learn about trends and changes in the CFC and best practices in managing a successful campaign. Based on the positive response of attendees at last years workshop, we will only be offering one workshop going forth. This is held under the auspices of the Combined Federal Campaign Foundation. All logistics and program activities are coordinated by Pam Haberstroh, Director of Community Health Charities of the National Capital Area, and the members of the Local Campaign Support Committee. We appreciate their work in creating the impressive agenda.
I have attached the 2012 CFC Training Schedule-at-a-Glance for your reference. As you will see, our keynote speaker will be the Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, John Berry. A few of the new sessions that I want to bring to your attention include CFC by the Numbers, Credit Card Giving, Pilot Programs, and Growing Your Campaign in a Transitional Workforce. The agenda will also include an update on the progress of the CFC-50 Commission.
The opening day will feature a course for CFC new-comers, entitled CFC 101, which is designed for those who have less than two years experience with the campaign. CFC veterans are invited to attend discussions on continuity planning and how to create annual campaign reports for donors.
In order to facilitate the participation of LFCCs and PCFOs, we encourage PCFOs to include estimated travel expenses in their 2012 CFC budgets to support participation by the LFCC chair or their designated representative at the workshop, along with PCFO staff. While many LFCC members may secure Federal agency funding to attend the training, in the event this is not feasible, LFCCs are permitted to include this travel in their local campaign budget. Documented/supported work shop costs, including travel, are permissible campaign expenses, pending LFCC approval.
The registration form is attached. Please note that hotel reservations must be made by February 6, 2012. Contact Jan Stinson at jjwworldwide@gmail.com if you have questions or comments about the registration process.
The CFC-50 Commission meeting will be held 2-4PM at the same location as the workshop. This event is separate from the CFC Training and is open to the public - there is no charge or registration form but space is limited. We will issue additional details prior to the meeting.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Keith Willingham
