FirstFlora protects the Reserva Natural Janaina
FirstFlora is a young and dynamic reality, strongly ethical, created to protect ecosystems essential to life on the planet, so that the extraordinary wealth of plants and animals of the earth is preserved for our generation and future generations to come.
FirstFlora now owns and protects hectares of pristine Atlantic Forest in "Costa do Cacau”, an area west of Itacaré in the state of Bahia, Brazil.
The region is part of the catchment area for Rio de Contas. The area has the world record for tree biodiversity, with 454 different species of trees per hectare, of which 53% are endemic and grow in no other part on the planet.
