the kids tableThis holiday season, dont run yourself ragged trying to catch every photo op. Instead, follow your instinct. If you feel inspired to grab the camera, do it. If not, leave it in the case. Take the photos that you want to take, but dont try to take every photo you could take. Enjoy the break. Enjoy making the memories.
When the holidays are over and youre browsing through your seasonal shots, you might just stumble on one that makes you smile from ear to ear. Let this be a surprisea delightful post-holiday gift to enjoy at your leisure. Before flipping to the next photo, take a moment to jot down your thoughts. Later, when youre ready to scrapbook, your journaling will be ready to go.
One of Ellens fondest childhood memories is of sitting at the kids table with her cousins at Thanksgiving. But it wasnt until she found this photo of her own children at the kids table that she thought to include this story in her scrapbook. I love that this layout combines my very specific childhood memories with the new traditions we are creating with our children, Ellen says.

our treeAlthough Staceys eclectic Christmas tree may never appear in a department store window, Stacey loves that its full of character and memories. The ornaments have come from many sources. Staceys favorite, the green orb covered in rhinestones, belonged to her husbands grandmother. Some of the ornaments belong to Staceys daughters, who choose one ornament each year that they will take with them when they move away from home.

celebrate this momentLindas father underwent surgery for prostate cancer in November 2005. Going into the holiday season last year, Linda says, we had no idea what our lives would be like by Christmas, how Dad would be feeling. Our Thanksgiving celebration was the best ever, because it marked the first time Dad had been out of the house since the surgery. Christmas was even better. I remember the feeling of joy we all felt that Dad was going to recover fully.
