Who isn’t talking about cybersecurity these days? With the recent hacks on major organizations like Sony and CitiBank, a new generation of politically-minded cyber “hacktivists,” and a White House cybersecurity proposal, there are many issues to debate. Here on TAP, we’ve been closely following cybersecurity issues in the past weeks (see our latest posts here and here) and we would like to open the floor for conversation at our second #TAPtalk on Wednesday, July 13, 2 p.m. EDT.

Our participant lineup, which will ask and answer questions during the hour-long #TAPtalk, includes the following cybersecurity experts:

  • Peter Swire, TAP Scholar (@peterpswire)
  • Andrea Matwyshyn, TAP Scholar (@amatwyshyn)
  • Tim Lordon, Congressional Internet Caucus (@tlordan)
  • George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute, (@HSPI)
  • Ronald Marks, George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute (@ronamarks)
  • Steve Bucci, IBM Global Services (@SBucci)

Our goal is to create an open dialogue about cybersecurity policy, allowing everyone to share their opinions and expertise, as well as connect with people interested in the topic.

If you participated in our first #TAPtalk on privacy (see the archived conversation here), you know we had a dynamic, fast-paced conversation that we hope to replicate for this next conversation. TAP scholars, privacy thought leaders, think tanks, tech policy journalists and others who are interested are encouraged to join us for what is sure to be a lively conversation.

To get ready for the cybersecurity #TAPtalk, check out TAP scholars’ research on the topic. We hope to see your #TAPtalk tweets on July 13th.
