Welcome to
Nathan Goodale House B&B
The Nathan Goodale house was built for Nathan and his wife Lucy Homer in
the Victorian Italianate style in 1855. It features beautiful tall windows
and wide pine board floors.
The Home was purchased from the Goodale's
by Brimfield's Hitchcock Free Academy around 1894 and used as a dormitory
for the "ladies", students and teachers, attending the Hitchcock Free
Academy located at the opposite end of the town common.
The home stayed in the Hitchcock family until the middle 1950's. At that time a two story el and barn were removed from the back of the home due to a fire. In 1957 the Prescott family and their three children moved into the home and lived there untill we purchased the home in the fall of 2000.
Opened as a Bed and Breakfast in May of 2001, the wonderful old home provides its guests with an experience in the traditional Bed and Breakfast style.
Each room is decorated with memories from the past. In one room you will find "Nana's" old four poster converted to queen size with the rope holes still present in the frame. In another the antique brass bed that once belonged to "Babu".
In a more modern time you will find signed prints by internationally recognized watercolor
artist Dan Campanelli.
