Organizational Leadership
The Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership is about leading, directing and motivating people in organizations and was specifically designed to accommodate prior credit.
Our program is multidisciplinary, combining communication, individual and group psychology, and leadership theories. It approaches the curriculum from a self-awareness perspective with the goal of developing sensitivity to and coordination with others within an organization. The learners in the program use theory and experiential learning for application in all types of organizations.
Many of our learners find themselves past the beginning of their professional and work career and seek further systematic study in Organizational Leadership with a vision of career change or promotion. The Organizational Leadership curriculum at Northern Kentucky University is delivered through classroom experience, service learning and online classes. The courses are offered in traditional semesters or in an accelerated program.
Organizational Leadership is designed to include:
- Developing Leaders: women and men with emerging careers whose professional development is best served by education in leading and directing people.
- Degree Completion Students: individuals who need a four-year degree to advance into supervising, managing or directing people.
- Mature Students: persons who have the time and emotional constraints of jobs and families, but who seek a brighter future through non-traditional studies and flexible scheduling.
Typical Organizational Leadership students are two or even all three of these.
