Water and other liquids are like Kryptonite for your handheld electronic devices, but sometimes they seem to be uncontrollably drawn together, as anyone who's dropped his phone in a puddle or a toilet can attest. But that's where the Bheestie moisture-removing bag can help, drying out your wet device to prevent any lasting damage.

Inside the bag with the unusual name -- the company explains "Bheestie" means "a servant who draws and carries water" -- are a bunch of little blue beads that absorb moisture away from your cell phone, iPod or camera.

"This bag serves as a protector of good memories," one Amazon reviewer wrote. "My digital camera as well as friends' cell phones have been saved countless times."

The Bheestie bag ($20) works best as a preventative measure, keeping your devices in tip-top shape against the slowly corrosive effects of sweat, rain and humidity, but it also works great on accidental spills and submersions. Don't expect miracles on all submersions, though, especially if the device was wet for a while before you got it into the bag.

Touted by a slew of national media including CNET and Uncrate, the Bheestie bag can be used repeatedly for up to a year or until the blue beads turn gray, indicating their powers are all used up.

Compared to previous solutions, a CNET blogger wrote, the Bheestie bag is "a more dependable solution for those of you who are accident-prone."
