In 1883 Auguste Kerckhoffs wrote a book (La Cryptographie Militaire) that had an enormous impact on cryptology in France and beyond. In this book, he set out a list of six dictums that remain to this day a benchmark for those that are developing field ciphers.     5. In modern terms the perfect cipher must be compatible with a mobile phone.
    These messages can easily be sent as a text message or verbally communicated over a phone.
