Tune in Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ginger at GReads! that showcases music.

To participate, just help spread the love of music by sharing a song with others.

-- For the month of March, Ginger created a Book Playlists Edition to Tune in Tuesday.

"Ever hear a song that reminds you of a book? Or maybe while you're reading you think, wow I know a song that would be perfect for this scene!"

I recently read and reviewed First You Try Everything, and it was such a such an emotional and sad read that I couldn't put down. The following song reminds me so much of this book, capturing it's sadness with the simple lyrics.

First You Try Everything by Jane McCafferty (review)

"'Of course I loved you!'
'Loved?'
The past tense clanged like a prison door shutting, and changed everything; the room itself was transformed by it, the bed, the dresser, the bare floor, the window, all seeming to step back while absorbing the word's singular power."

The song:

"House Full of Empty Rooms" by Kathleen Edwards

"And I'm far from perfect, I'm far from anything but I swear that when we started I used to make you happy but I don't know you...not the way that I thought I did. Maybe you don't know me and you don't wanna be the first to say. I've been wondering about what we're gonna do and I've been wondering about what we're gonna do. A house full of empty rooms."

Summary: April Bannerman is a young mother of three, married to her high school sweetheart & living in the same small town in which she grew up. Although she loves her children and husband, April is plagued by the growing doubt that she has not lived up to her mother's expectations for her---until one day when something terrible and unexpected happens, and April must face the truth about her own life and discover what really matters.
