Falafel Patty

Carol Debberman, the founder of Sunshine
Burger, has been a practicing vegan for nearly
four decades. When Carol was pregnant with
her fifth child, she craved the delightful and
refreshing falafel sandwiches she found at the
corner stand in New York’s Greenwich Village.
She missed having them so much that she created
a prebaked Sunshine Falafel Patty so anyone
could enjoy a falafel sandwich at a moment’s
notice. Try them with her delicious sauce!

Carol’s Falafel Sauce
Part 1
Simmer in small sauce pan with lid for 10 minutes:
8 or 9 large cloves of garlic, peeled
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 cup water
Pinch of salt
Part 2
Then mix these ingredients in a blender until smooth:
1 cup tahini (sesame butter)
Juice of one lemon (make sure you discard the
lemon seeds)
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon or less of salt to taste
After the Part 1 mixture has cooled, combine
both parts in a blender until smooth. Then taste!

Organic raw ground sunflower seeds
organic brown rice
organic chick peas
organic split peas
organic tahini(ground toasted organic sesame seeds)
organic sesame seed paste
organic parsley
organic cumin powder
organic garlic
sea salt
