1000 Cranes for Japan in Design Museum longlist

London’s Design Museum reveals the longlist for Designs of the Year. 1000 cranes for Japan  is proud to be in that list. You can see all of the nominations in each category on display at the Design Museum in the Designs of the Year exhibition from 8 February until 4 July 2012.

A beautiful Japanese tradition tells that a wish may be granted in response to someone with the devotion to fold one thousand origami cranes. This project seeks to draw on that ancient healing and show that the emotional blow received can be responded to through the strength of solidarity and human compassion.
