Grading System

appVersity’s scoring system is somewhat unique compared to many review sites that exists today. We have decided to approach our scoring system in a slightly different manner.

Paying umbrage to our name app(Versity) a play on education or university we have decided to work on an A-D  report card style system. In doing so we are using appVersity Logo as the backdrop to the scores.  These scores will appear on each and every review going forward on the top right hand side of the article. If you view some of our older articles you will notice they have a different scoring in place. Eventually these will be updated to reflect the new scoring system as well.

Every review is written from a real gamers viewpoint. It’s a luxury afforded to us by being non-commercial and this ensures that reviews are written not as promotion but as a real-life assessment. We do from time to time offer sponsored reviews but this in no way skews our way of reviewing. We owe it to you and our sites integrity to always provide far, honest, and objectionable reviews.  We let the apps speak for themselves, and we ensure developers know this.

Below you will see the different review images that will appear on each review along with a detailed explanation of what it means.

spacer The Editors Choice isn’t just given out here at appVersity.com it’s earned. Graded above an “A” Applications that receive this coveted award are the “best of the best”. Similar to the valedictorians or honor role students. These applications are worth the money at any price point, and are in a different league than the competition. These applications should be experienced by everyone.

spacer Just like a traditional report card the letter A represents the best in class when it comes to applications. If an application receives an A from us you can be sure the application is of quality and worthy of your money. These applications are the complete package with detailed instructions, excellent presentation values, and controls. A’s are a great addition to your collection.

spacer The letter B represents the better than average applications. These applications are very functional, offer alot of value, but are just lacking that one or two special thing that is preventing it from getting an A. The reviewers will always describe the lacking features.  B’s are a worthy addition to your collection.

spacer C graded applications represent “Caution”. These applications may provide a decent experience but missing some core features, or have sloppy controls which prevent the reviewer from enjoying the experience. We recommend applications that receive a C only be bought at discount prices or by fans of the particular genre.

spacer Applications that receive a grade of D during our review process should be avoided at all costs. These applications are broken, rushed, or do not perform as stated. These applications do not represent a value at any cost and should be avoided.
