    EU-funded EUMEDCONNECT2 and LINKSCEEM-2 projects sign Memorandum of Understanding

    MoU reinforces high performance computing infrastructures for the research and education community in the Eastern Mediterranean region

    Thursday, 10 February 2011, Nicosia, Cyprus and Cambridge, UK: With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, the EUMEDCONNECT2 high-capacity data-communications network for research and education in the southern Mediterranean has strengthened its cooperation with LinkSCEEM-2, a project spacer  that proposes the development of a high-performance computing ecosystem in the Eastern Mediterranean region by interlinking and spacer  coordinating ICT resources.

     

    The MoU sets out two key collaborative objectives for EUMEDCONNECT2 and LinkSCEEM-2:

    • sharing expertise and information relating to network connectivity provision for research and education in the Eastern Mediterranean region and
    • developing reciprocal promotional and dissemination activities.


    The MoU was signed by Constantia Alexandrou, Project Coordinator for LinkSCEEM-2 and David West, Project Manager of EUMEDCONNECT2 on 10 February 2011.
