Foxy Shazam - "Welcome to the Church of Rock and Roll"


     Rock and roll used to be fun.  It was cocksure and extravagant and surrounded by bouncy boobs and coloful, flamboyant frontmen that made for great dorm room posters.  Then the 90's happened and everything got so goddamned serious, broody, and colorless. The peacock had been replaced by the crow.
     Fast forward to 2012 and rock and roll is still a pretty serious affair.  Without any real theatrics or bombasity, the rock train chugs on at a no-frills pace making stops in places like Bushville, Seethertown, and Chevellesburg.  These musical hamlets are populated with rock sure, but they aren't very fun or glamourous and lets face it, wouldn't you rather spend your time in The Church of Rock and Roll rather than being surrounded by the Sound of Winter?!
     This record from Foxy Shazam is serious rock but gone are the meloncholy trappings of post-90's guitar music and in their place is injected a healthy dose of cock pumping, cigarette smoking tunes that are most importantly, fun.
