Dusted Baked Off

spacer

Whilst the entire Dusted Christmas Doo was as fun as ever, the main event took place in the office that morning—the Dusted Bake Off.

In what seemed like the next logical step forward from 2009’s Mince Pie Audit, 2011 saw us baking our own mince pies, bringing them in and taste-testing them. We used similar judging criteria too, critiquing the baked goods on;

  • Packaging
  • Appearance
  • Pie Access
  • Pastry
  • Filling
  • Mince-meat to volume ratio
  • Xmas Factor

Each of these categories were scored out of 5 giving a possible total of 35 points. We all tasted each others pies and we also employed the services of an impartial judge, Ryan Wood—a regular freelancer at Dusted.

So without further ado, the results.

DH DW CT LB MK DP LOR JH
DH 16.0 27.0 26.0 20.0 15.0 18.0 13.0
DW 20.5 26.0 27.5 17.0 19.5 22.5 15.0
CT 21.0 22.0 27.0 22.0 21.0 17.0 13.0
LB 15.5 24.0 25.0 23.0 21.0 17.5 13.0
MK 20.0 21.0 23.0 26.0 22.0 21.0 20.0
DP 22.0 28.0 26.0 27.0 24.0 19.0 10.0
LOR 18.0 18.5 21.5 22.5 19.0 17.0 9.0

RW 18.0 17.0 24.0 28.0 25.0 12.0 19.0 14.0
Total 159.0 163.5 189.5 201.0 169.0 141.5 156.0 107.0

So in summary, Lucy came out on top, Caroline in second and Matt in third. And I think I speak for every one of us—if I never see another mince pie it will be too soon (well, until next Christmas at least).
