Georgetown's Center of Education and the Workforce released a report, "The College Payoff" which describes how much one could expect to earn throughout their lifetime based on which degrees they hold.  Although the report's findings support the importance of college completion for everyone, it also suggested that women, Blacks and Latinos with masters degrees will typically earn less than whites and males with only bachelor's degrees.

Somber Statistics Give Much Needed Insight

The report's revealing statistics of inequality suggest that higher education should do more to provide equal opportunities for women and minorities. Instead of simply resting on the idea that "college helps everyone", maybe we can look for ways that college can provide women, Blacks and Latinos with more pathways to success.
