Squarepusher Live

Just recently, Tom Jenkinson aka Squarepusher announced his new album and visual live show Ufabulum. The Warp Records regular will be presenting this new record at very few festivals throughout the year, which is why his appearance at Electronic Beats Festival Gdańsk 2012 is something very special the whole team is looking forward to. In a short statement, the jazz- and drone-electronica artist described the concept of 'Ufabulum' as very melodic and aggressive, possibly going back to his roots: "I've started thinking about pure electronic music again."

James Blake

James Blake has only released on album so far alongside a clutch of singles and EP's, but his reputation and success went straight through the roof, making him possibly the first (and only) dubstep pop star. Making music that is delicate and mature, his sound is a world away from the bass heavy scene he emerged from – his live sets show just how much he opened up a new muscial vein.

Hamburg-bound producers Jens Moelle and Ismail Tüfekçi will be joining Electronic Beats in Gdańsk another time, following up on their rave set at Electronic Beats Festival Zagreb in 2011. "We're a two man band but we're not a classic band", Digitalism told EB in a recent interview. "We've got a drummer with us now, but that makes sense, because we use a lot of live drum recordings, samples and everything in our music anyway. (…) We wanted some more action, so we added the drummer, but I don't think we're gonna have a full band, because that's not our identity. We want to stay kind of techno mixed with live stuff or whatever. I think, that's our perfect concept at the moment." At Electronic Beats Festival Gdańsk 2012 we're expecting Digitalism to deliver an even tighter and thrilling set, since they've been on a extended tour since then.
