The 8th Annual Tour De Lure Ride
The Dewey Hughes Memorial Route
A challenging 71 mile ride leaving from the Y at 9:00 am. The course is hilly, with 5900’ of total ascent. The ride winds thru scenic farmland in McDowell county, climbs up Stone Mtn., passes through Chimney Rock and around beautiful Lake Lure, and then heads back into McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route. The roads are lightly traveled with few turns, have nice pavement, and cross no major highways. Whether you are looking for a fun day out on the bike or a great training ride for “The Assaults”, this ride has what you need.
The Corpening YMCA Fun Route
An exciting 25-mile course on rolling hills, through scenic farmland in McDowell County. This is a great ride for anyone, but especially exciting if you are new to cycling.

$25 early-bird, $35 after March 23rd
Non-Member:
$30 early-bird, $40 after March 23rd
Additional Info:
Registration begins at 7:30am on ride day. There is no limit on the number of riders. Guaranteed T-shirt for all riders registered before March 23rd. There are 4 sag stops on ride, and a homemade spaghetti post-ride meal. Riders under 14 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult. For triathletes, our pool will be open at 7:30 AM if you would like to swim prior to the ride. The entire Y facility will be available to all riders and their families during the day of the ride.
