Sarah Thompson - Dog Training Specialist Sarah's love for animals started at a very young age, with a passion for horses. Her work with horses taught her a great deal about recognizing body language and the importance of patience when training any animal. On the weekends, if she wasnt riding her horses, she was helping her parents at their Shutzhund dog club, learning about competative obedience, search and rescue and protection dog work.
Sarah's professional dog career started at the age of 18 when she began working as a bather at a grooming salon, working her way up to a position as a professional groomer. Her training career began when she landed a job working for Lee Pulis, a trainer known for his work with John Denver's dogs.
In 2006, Sarah began working at the Longmong Humane Society under Aimee Sadler. It was through Aimee's approach and techniques that dog training started to come together for for Sarah as a career. Working along side Aimee for over 5 years has expanded her knowledge, handling skills and understanding of canine behavior to a respected professional level.
Sarah currently works full time as the Training and Behavior Coordinator at LHS, working tirelssly to rehabilitate and modify the behavior of some the more diffcult and troubled dogs that come through our doors.
