Chagrined, I had no updates at the first of the month, so I kept waiting for spring tour dates to be confirmed, next thing I knew it was the middle of the month and I was still in limbo, crawling the walls. Then It was time for the annual physical and the doctor found a lump. Left breast, around 2 o’clock. The thermogram was taking forever to get the analysis back and when I showed up at the ultrasound clinic for further tests, they’d canceled my appointment and had to wait another week before it was rescheduled for later today.
So I kept busy swimming and praying instead. And joined a gym. And sang with the choir every Sunday this month. Time passed. Now, I’m in great shape, spiritually and physically, ready for whatever the test may be. And guess what? I have some tour updates. Is it everything I’d hoped for, exactly the plan I’d laid out last year for Roadworks? Not quite…but better, because in the meantime I learned to surrender and accept the things I can’t control and persist in what I can.
Well, that’s my story anyways, and I’m sticking to it!

Then, out of nowhere, yesterday I get 2 (two!) ‘January Newsletters;’ the Hollywood bookstore Book Soup, and another from Tyr Swimwear, and it gave me the chutzpah to announce that this is my January Newsletter. And so I still get to send this photo I took...Happy New Year!
