How to Create Private Nameservers at OpenSRS

1. Register first a domain name through OpenSRS.

2. Type the Domain Name in the box provided.

3. Then type the OpenSRS Username in the box provided.

4. Type the Password in the box provided too.

5. Click the button named “Manage Domain”.

6. Look for the Name Servers link above then click it.

7. Scroll down the page and look for the Click Here link located at the bottom of the page.

8. Click the link “Click Here” to create new name servers.

9. Scroll down again and look for boxes provided for the Server Hostname and for the Server IP Address.

10. Type the new nameserver name in the space provided for the Server Hostname.

11. Then, type the new nameserver’s associated IP address in the box provided for the Server IP Address.

12. Then, click the button named “Create Name Server”.

13. When completed, click the button named “OK”. Then, it will automatically appear in the spaces above the Create Name Server title.

14. In registering the second name server, type a second Nameserver in the Server Hostname space provided.

15. Then, enter the new second nameserver’s linked IP address in the space provided for Server IP Address.

16. Click the button named “Create Name Server”. Then, it will automatically appear in the space above, next to the first name server.

Remember: It would take twenty-four up to forty-eight hours upon forwarding the new name servers and IP addresses for the new nameservers to be transmitted.

17. When finished, don’t forget to click the Logout link in the upper middle of the page.

18. It is the end of the demo. Always remember, the domain name that is to be used in creating name servers should already exist.
