Who’s Smadronia?

spacer I’m Smadronia, in real life I’m known as Stephanie. I’ve had this domain for years, ever since domains went from the price of $200 to affordable, so early 2000s, if I had to guess. It’s had sites on it off and on for years, including a great site designed by my ex. However, it was pretty much one graphic split into manageable chunks, and it made updating it awful. If I wanted to cut a category or add one, it was impossible. And so between that and being lazy, it never got updated.

(Picture, right) February 2010 in Sigfried and Roy’s Secret Garden And Dolphin Habitat. It was raining and 20 minutes until they closed, but I wanted to see the white tigers, and it was our last day in town.

Fast forward to late 2010: after most of the year spent driving truck, trying to lose weight, and doing Online Marketing, I decided it was time to actually create a personal blog. I’d been on Livejournal for years, but I didn’t like all the changes, and Facebook makes thing too private, or else I had to share everything with everyone. So, I moved my domain name over, and now I’m recreating the website I’ve had off and on for years.

Want to know about me, and not my website? Well, I’m 30, and I’m a professional driver. That means I drive a tractor trailer combination unit all over the continental United States. In other words, I’m trucker, or truck driver. I’ve been doing it now for a number of years, although I’m feeling the urge to give it up for a local driving job, or a total change of pace. I currently reside with my co-driver (and partner for 6+ years) in my grandmother’s basement. It beats paying rent or mortgage on a home I’d live in 4 days a month. My grandmother remodeled the downstairs bathroom and let us repaint and carpet the room we’re in, so it’s a nice place to stay.

In my spare time, what little I have, I play World of Warcraft, an assortment of Facebook games, read, write a little, and do online marketing. I’ve had some success lately with the online marketing, and while it’s not good enough I can quit my day job, I’m sure with some more work it will bring in a nice side income. I tend to talk about it a lot, so I figure it might be better to post about it, and talk less.
