Flowers for the wildlife garden

Flowers are not only a joy to see and smell, but are very important to wildlife. Nectar is food for insects such as butterflies and bees. Leaves provide food for caterpillars and beetles. Hollow stems offer hibernation sites for insects such as the ladybird. Seeds help many birds to survive the winter and night scented flowers attract moths that will in turn attract bats. Try to have plants in flower throughout the year.
