Welcome to the Christmas sweets, chocolates and gifts section
Any suggestions for this page? Thanks to post them on the forum.
It's a very good idea to make a couple of home-made goodies to give as presents.

The Christmas presents tradition
The Romans used to give presents during the winter solstice and, as many surrounding custums where included into Christianity, Christmas became the time to exchange gifts.
The tradition of exchanging gifts at Christmas may have begun with the story of the 3 magi who offered the Christ child, frankincense, gold and myrrh.
Saint Nicholas, the patron of all children was known for his charity. Gift-giving in his honor began in the 13th century: french nuns gave presents to poor children on december 6th which is St Nicholas day.
In some places in Europe, presents are still exchanged at that time. But in most places, gifts are give on either December 24th or 25th.
