Title: Christmas Dough Art
(Microwave)
4 c All-purpose flour
1 c Salt
1 1/2 c Hot water*
*Instant coffee added to water gives
dough "browned" color.
Knead dough 6 - 8 minutes. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutters into
desired shapes. Place on wax paper on glass tray; with a toothpick, make
several holes in each piece to let air escape, then microwave on high for about
2 minutes. Time will vary according to size of "cookies."
When baked, allow to cool before decorating.

Brooches
1 c flour
1 c warm water
1/4 c salt
2 ts cream of tartar
1 ts oil
Food coloring of your choosing
Mix together the flour, water, salt, cream of tartar, oil, and food
coloring.
Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from pan and knead until blended
smooth.
Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. Will last for a long
time.
To make brooch(es), use cookie cutters that are Christmas-shapes (stars,
snowmen, etc.)
Before totally dry, press pins into backs of brooches (buy the pins at a
craft store).
When they are totally dry, paint them with your favorite Christmas colors.
Title: Holiday Spice
Potpourrie
4 Oranges
4 Lemons
1/2 c Whole cloves
1/2 c Whole allspice
10 Cinnamon Sticks, broken
10 Bay leaves, crumbled
8 oz Decorated jelly jars with -bands & lids
Using a vegetable peeler, peel fruit
carefully, removing only the peel, not any of the white pith. Cut or tear into
one inch pieces.
Spread peel on paper towel lined pan.
Place in preheated oven to 175, or set oven to WARM.
Dry in oven for 1 1/2 hours, tossing occasionally. Peels should be leathery
and/or slightly crunchy.
Spread peels on dry paper towels and let air dry for 24 hours.
Combine with remaining ingredients.
Fill jars with mixture, place lids on and screw bands on tightly.
Yield: 3 or 4 half pint jars.
To use: remove lid and leave band on for decoration to fragrance a room. OR
put one Tblsp into a jar and fill jar with boiling water to release fragrance.

Cut out pictures from last year's
Christmas cards in assorted shapes, or cut out just the colors of the pictures
(and not the whole picture); depends on how big you want you're christmas gift
tags to be. Punch a hole in the top of the tag and thread a ribbon or thread
though. Write on the back of the tag and tape to the gift.
Title: Popcorn-Marshmallow
Christmas Tree
12 c Popped
popcorn
1/2 c Margarine or butter
3 c Mini marshmallows
1/2 pk Lime flavored jello
Green food color
Candy pieces to decorate christmas tree
Spread popcorn evenly in jelly-roll pan or on waxed paper-lined counter.
In medium saucepan, combine margarine and marshmallows; cook over medium
heat until melted.
Add jello; continue to cook until jello is dissolved. Add food color and mix
well.
Pour evenly over popcorn; stir quickly to coat.
With dampened hands, shape popcorn into cone shape. Decorate christmas tree
with candy pieces.

1 c Applesauce, drained
1 c Cinnamon
1 oz Cloves, ground
1 oz Nnutmeg, ground
1 oz Ginger, ground
Cinnamon for dusting the cutting board
Combine ingredients to make a stiff
dough. Roll out on board dusted with ground cinnamon.
Cut with cookie cutters of your choice.
Put hole in top for string. Lay out flat to dry.
Turn over every 12 hours until completely dry.

Title: Tortilla Chip
Wreath
24 oz Vanilla candy
coating; cut in pieces
1 tb Shortening
7 oz Triangle shape tortilla chips
Red green gumdrops
Line cookie sheet with waxed paper. Draw 6" circle on paper.
In large micro-safe bowl, place candy coating and shortening. Microwave on
medium for 6-7 minutes or until melted, stirring once halfway through melting.
Stir until smooth.
Dip tortilla chips in the candy coating and arrange coated chips randomly
around outside of the 6" circle. Continue to overlap and stack chips in
wreath shape.
Decorate with gumdrops. Let harden before serving.

Snow
1/2 c
Granulated Sugar
1/2 c Talcum Powder
Mix together the sugar and talcum powder.
Sprinkle mxiture over any area you want to decorate after it has been spread
with liquid starch or a mixture of 1/2 glue and 1/2 water.
Let dry.
HINT: the more sugar the more sparkle.

Combine all ingredients in a kettle or saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat
and simmer for as long as desired.
Check water level frequently and add more as needed. Mixture may be stored in
refrigerator and re-used.

Brighten an adult's dessert plate with
soft candle glow by using the small candle holders designed to clip onto
christmas tree branches. Insert a candle and clip to each dessert plate and
light the candles just before serving for a sparkling, festive touch.
Red apples can be made into candle holders by cutting holes in them with an
apple corer or paring knife. Insert candles and tie colorful ribbons around
them.
Note: Place candles in the freezer for a while before lighting. They will burn
more slowly and drip a lot less.

cups of water or fruit juice
2 (3 ounce) packages strawberry jello
2 (3 ounce) packages lime jello
Mix jello according to package instructions. Stir until gelatin is
dissolved.
Pour into a 9 or 10 inch square pan and refrigerate until set.
Cut out using your favorite Christmas cookie cutters.
