I’ve just moved my blog from Expression Engine to Word Press. This was more difficult than the migration from Movable Type a few years ago. This post made my work a little easier.
While I’m at it, I should probably write about what’s going on. My friends Sam and Jeff are getting married this weekend. I’m in the wedding, and by the time most of you read this, I will be on the road to Hartford for the wedding tommorow.
I was in Washington, DC a few weeks ago. An old friend of mine owns a bar down there. Bill and I haven’t seen each other in years. I contacted his partner via Facebook and arranged a little surprise for him. Bill was behind the bar with his back to me. I tapped on his shoulder. He turned around to look at me. It took about five seconds for him to make the connection. He was absolutely stunned. Mission accomplished.
While I was down there, I met up with someone I’ve been chatting with online for quite some time. We ended up spending the entire weekend together. We’re going to see where this goes. He’s coming up here in a couple of weeks for my chorus retreat. I’m going back down two weeks later. That’s all the details you get for now.
This week, I started Weight Watchers at work. It’s been interesting so far. I’m seeing that by cutting a lot of the crap and alcohol out of my diet, I’m seeing that it gives me a lot of opportunity for real food.
Checking to see if this will show up in my Facebook page RSS feed.
I’ve just upgraded to Expression Engine 1.5.2. I was having a few little quirks with the last version. Hopefully this will resolve them.
I’ve just upgraded my site to Expression Engine 1.51. Why? Well, I was just tired of the little reminder when I logged into my site.
So far, so good…
The new version of Expression Engine has a wiki module. I’m wondering if I should start keeping my own wiki. It sounds a bit narcissistic, trying to capture everything I know.
When I upgraded Expression Engine from 1.41 to 1.42, I started to encounter problems uploading pictures to my sites. It was intermittent and random. I was starting to think it was my hosting provider, but Sam and I are using the same hosting provider. I was having trouble with 1.42, yet she was having no problems with 1.41. That led me to think there was a problem with 1.42. On the tech support forums, I couldn’t find anything.
Today, I upgraded to 1.50, and the problem appears to be better. Photos that wouldn’t upload before are now uploading. I do believe the problem has been fixed. This makes me happy.
On Sunday, we need to update the blog software on Sam’s site. She’s two versions behind now, and that’s not a good thing.
Lets see if these pictures will upload:
I think it’s working now. Now I have to upload some overdue pictures.
This is my test moblog entry.
I blew up my blog today trying to reinstall the software. Getting the files FTP’d from my laptop was a challenge and then restoring the database was hell. But I think I’m back for now.
Just for giggles, I’ve turned off the captchas and wiped out my EE blacklist. I want to see how many comments I get on my blog over the weekend that are spam. If it gets bad, I’ll put everything back in place.
