An Illinois native, I guess I would be considered one of the "newest nuts" around here! And trust me, they never let me forget it between my "Chicaaaago" accent and the fact that I say "pop." Nonetheless, when you're working for an Airline home is magically a lot closer. ;-) Gotta LUV Southwest! Explaining to people what exactly I do as the "Culture Communication Specialist" can be complicated... but from one nut to another, let's just say I communicate all those recognition, goofy, quirky and unique events that differentiate SWA from everyone else! Not bad, huh?

Your Favorite Southwest Story

Over Halloween 2011 I went to NYC. Needless to say, the Big Apple had a freak snow storm in October and a lot of flights out of LGA were cancelled. There was obviously no chance we were going to get on a flight as a non-rev. So, needless to say, my boyfriend and I made friends with a SWA Flight Attendant and her two grandsons, and a gentleman on a SWA buddy pass (all in the same situation) and we all crammed into a compact rental car and started a four-hour drive to BWI. Four long, cramped hours later, we got to BWI 20 minutes before the last flight to Texas left. After putting some of my old track abilities to the test, we made it! ...just to spend another 4 hours on the plane, stop in SAT for awhile, before catching the last flight to DAL. Exhausting? Yes... Laughable? Definitely!

March 17th is your lucky day! Enjoy a free drink from your green airline! “Here’s to a long life and a merry one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold beer – and another one!” This is a classic Irish toast, displaying the character and charisma of the Irish. Like the Irish, here at Southwest we LUV to show our playful spirit, and holiday pride. That’s why we’re going to join you in... read more

Mr. Dusek, a Passenger on a flight from MCO to PHX, was raving to one of our Flight Attendant's, Donna Woods, that his wife and he are A-Listers and LUV Southwest. As they chatted, Donna noticed the man’s wife making her way down the aisle holding an unusual package—a Dalmatian costume. Mr. Dusek explained that his company had a costume party and his wife dressed as Cruella DeVille, so she “made... read more

Station Manager Playoffs Challenge

By: Allison Osborne spacer

Being born and raised a Cubs fan, playing baseball through the middle of October is something unknown to me. September always brings the same shrug, “Maybe next year,” and my insistence that it’s football season.  However, after recently moving to Dallas, I have found myself in the middle of Ranger Nation, where winning, unlike my Cubs, isn’t anything new. Now that the end of the playoffs... read more
