On behalf of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation I would like to welcome you to the official website for the government of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation. The Eastern Band of Cherokee, which is the only tribe in North Carolina that is recognized by the federal government, is located in western North Carolina in our traditional homelands. Our Tribe consists of approximately 14,000 enrolled members and holds 56,000 acres for our Qualla Boundary.
