Maria Scrivan is an illustrator, designer and author who specializes in humorous illustrations. Her artwork has appeared in advertisements, newspapers, books, on greeting cards, clothing and licensed products. Her clients include AT&T, IBM, Emcor, Mastercard, Deloitte, Funny Times and Salon.com. Maria’s cartoons are published nationally, she licenses her images and works on assignment. Maria is a member of the National Cartoonists Society and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Artist’s Statement:
“I love finding humor in the truths and absurdities of modern culture. It’s fun to  figure out what’s funny about the challenges all around us. There is a lot to laugh about right now!

I draw with a dip pen or brush and waterproof India Ink. Images are scanned, composited and colored digitally or by hand with gouache.”
