English Country Dancing

Sundays at 8 p.m. 17th-18th Century Social Dancing with live music. This is a performance group and newcomers are welcome. Also Sword dance and Morris dance teams.

Knoxville Cajun Dance Association

Fees for Cajun and Zydeco dance lessons support Cajun bands at the Laurel Theater.

Knoxville Country Dancers

American folk dancing to live acoustic music. Dances are held every Monday night at 8. No experience or partner required.

Knoxville Swing Dance Association

Dedicated to the purpose of promoting swing dance.

Knoxville Writers' Guild

7 p.m. first Thursdays. The Writers' Guild provides a forum for information, support, and sharing among writers. The Guild helps members improve and market their writing skills, and works to promote writers' interests in the broader community. Each monthly meeting features a reading by a selected local author or writer.

Old Harp Singing


Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in this unique tradition of community and harmony. The Epworth Old Harp singers meet second Sundays at 7 p.m. downstairs in the Laurel Theatre. Additional singings are held throughout East Tennessee.

Trollkretsen Scandinavian Dancers

Tuesdays at 7:30. There's no need to bring a partner; instruction is excellent. Dances include polskor, schottische, waltzes and more.
