Ian MacNeil
What is your day job ?
I am starting a new business venture — an artisan distillery based in Washington State called Glass Distillery, producing Glass Vodka and Lachselian Whiskey. I also own and operate an aircraft leasing business partnered with Galvin Flying Services on Boeing Field in Seattle.
What is your previous dance experience?
I love dancing to big band and swing music and have done so since I was a teenager in high school.
Why are you dancing for Plymouth Housing Group?
Plymouth is a fantastic local organization with a very important mission; providing homes to the most challenged homeless adults in our community. My Seattle residence is in the Pioneer Square area and I come face to face with the realities of some of the homeless in Seattle. My participation in Seattle Dances will help raise needed funds for Plymouth’s programs and services and hopefully bring additional awareness of the important service Plymouth is providing our entire community.
Where are you going to put your Mirror Ball Trophy when you win?
My Mirror Ball Trophy is going to be displayed in the tasting room of my distillery located in the revitalized SoDo district of Seattle!
Ian is dancing Salsa with Alison Cockrill
Alison Cockrill began formal dance training with ballet, at age 4, and a professional performing career in 1987. She has performed works by and toured internationally with modern choreographers Wade Madsen and Pat Graney. She fell in love with salsa after a trip to Guatemala in the mid-nineties and has been teaching it since 1999. She has been involved with the Century Ballroom since its inception, in 1997 and this is her 3rd year participating in Seattle Dances.
