Railway Play, a new, train inspired space in our Centennial Exploration exhibit, is opening on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. In this exhibit-space, our visitors can take a trip to the 1876 Worlds Fair via the Pennsylvania Railroad!
Children of all ages and abilities will be able to engage in cooperative play as they sell or purchase tickets from the ticket booth, operate the train schedule, take a seat in a train car, play with classic wooden trains on multiple tracks, and even climb into the engine and make the trains move!
Specific exhibit elements include:
Ticket Booth — sell and purchase tickets to get passengers on their way
Train Schedule — where are you going today? Schedule departures and destinations
Train Tables — assemble and play with classic wooden train sets on multiple tables
Engine — climb aboard and operate the train, full-steam ahead
Please Touch Museums talented Exhibits staff is in the process of building and installing Railway Play. Below, please find construction photos of the installation! We will continue to update this section, so check back soon!
