spacer LightRecycle Program

Burnt out? If you've been wondering what to do with your burnt-out fluorescent lights, there's a B.C. program to keep them out of the landfill and ensure safe recycling. It’s called LightRecycle. Starting July 1, 2010, residents across B.C. can return used fluorescent lights to a LightRecycle drop-off location for safe recycling. In July 2012, the LightRecycle Program will be expanded to include all other types of light bulbs, including halogen, incandescent, and LED.

LightRecyle accepts all residential use compact fluorescent lights and fluorescent tubes. Other lights, including commercial use fluorescent lights, LED lights, Christmas tree lights, halogen or incandescent lights are not accepted.

To find out more about recycling and the collection sites nearest you, visit Recycling Council of B.C. or call 1 800 667 4321.
