On the twelve day of Christmas my bartender made for me a much needed hangover remedy…
Today wraps up the 12 cocktails of Christmas. We thought for the last post it would be appropriate to post a hangover recipe. We picked this one because we loved the name. The drink itself turned out to be really good. As for the claim of curing a hangover, the verdict is still out on that issue.
Suffern’ Bastard
Printer-friendly recipe
Makes 1 or 2 cocktails
1 oz bourbon (we used Maker's Mark)
1 oz gin (we used Bombay Blue Sapphire)
¼ oz fresh lime juice
Dash of angostura bitters
3-4 oz ginger ale
Shake in cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into ice filled highball glass. Or, to share with a friend in need, pour into two ice filled rocks glasses.
Bartender's Note:to share this drink it can be poured into two rocks glasses or 2 martini glasses.
Need other drinks that use bitters? Try these:
Blarney Stone
Champagne Cocktails
Death in the Gulf Stream Cocktail
Sufferin' Bastard
Paddy Wagon
Phoenix Rising
