Buy on: iTunes, Amazon and InstantEncore Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute August 7-11, UCLA Herb Alpert School Application deadline: April 16 ACO and the Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University announced the next round of the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute. JCOI includes a week-long Intensive held at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music in August. Participants are then eligible to compose a new orchestral work for JCOI Readings to be held with four orchestras around the country. Guidelines & Application Info... CoLABoratory: Playing it UNsafe 2012-13 Submission deadline: April 16, 2012 ACO announces CoLABoratory: Playing it UNsafe, a research and development laboratory for the creation, development, work-shopping, and performance of experimental new music by American composers. The program includes an extended series of public workshop/readings during the 2012-13 season, culminating in performance in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall on Friday, April 5, 2013, conducted by ACO music director George Manahan.
