Making a Minster: Documenting the creation of Croydon Minster

I was asked by Croydon Parish Church to create a 15 minute record of the service which saw them upgraded to a Minster church.

At CIMA I’ve introduced a Sony HVR-A1E camera to our comms and marketing arsenal, as we branch out in to online video. Here are some of the first fruits. Editing has usually been done in Final Cut Express on a MacBook Pro.

“Meet the new members” – a video to encourage CIMA students to progress with the qualification

After every set of exam results there are always some students who haven’t made the grade on that occasion, and this video is drawn on then as an inspiration and insight in to how those who have made it all the way feel rewarded, and how they have found the qualification useful.

HSBC / CIMA / Tomorrow’s Company lecture: Tomorrow’s Value

As a member of the co-ordinating team for this event I was responsible for dressing and lighting the platform at London’s Mansion House, and for all camera operation and post-event editing (Final Cut Express). The event was a single camera shoot which required publishing within hours, so you only see B-roll on the final video. It’s a beautiful but dark room, and the lighting was a particular challenge on this shoot.
