Basic Carbine

The Basic Carbine course is designed to teach the basic foundations of shooting the M4 Carbine and transitioning to the pistol. Students learn the 7 fundamentals of marksmanship, weapons manipulation, transitions and the Post Engagement Sequence. During this course students perform multiple drills using both the Carbine and pistol to include: Facing drills, rapid target engagement, multiple target engagement, transitioning to pistol, magazine changes, clearing of stoppages, and emergency procedures.  To qualify to move on to the next level, all students must pass the qualification shoot.

Intermediate Carbine I

The Intermediate Carbine I course is designed to build on the foundation of skills learned in the Basic Course. It will continue to reinforce the 7 Fundamentals of Marksmanship, weapons manipulation, transitions and the Post Engagement Sequence.

The course is designed to begin the Students Stress Inoculation and will introduce shooters to the concept of the “Hot Range”, Cover and Concealment as well as a discussion on the Fundamentals of “Gun Fighting”.

Students will learn: Target Discrimination, multiple Target engagements, Target Engagement while moving as well as Failure Drills. Students will then demonstrate their understanding of these concepts through a series of culmination drills combining all the new skill sets.

Intermediate Carbine II

In the Intermediate Carbine II, students will continue to focus on the fundamentals and continue to build the muscle memory necessary for efficient, ergonomic and universal weapons manipulation focusing on the basics of magazine changes and clearing malfunctions. The shooter will continue to refine his/her skills in target discrimination and multiple target engagements in increasingly dynamic shooting problems involving rhythm and tempo changes as well as transitions.

Students will learn: To manipulate the carbine to engage targets using either hand (left or right). The fundamentals of shooting from cover (standing, kneeling, prone as well as alternate shooting positions) and shooting in a buddy team.

Intermediate Carbine III

The Intermediate III course is a very physically demanding course. This course will push the student physically and mentally and will continue to inoculate the student to stress as he/she continues to refine their marksmanship skills and weapons manipulation.

Students will: Shoot a Reflexive Shooting Course of Fire, and engage targets out to 200 yards from various positions with our “long range” work culminating in the 300 yard RUN DOWN exercise. Students will also conduct, buddy team live fire drills utilizing covered positions.

Advanced Carbine I

 

Advanced Carbine I course is a physically demanding course designed to give the student ample opportunity to practically apply the skills that have been built during previous classes. Students will have their skills thoroughly evaluated through a series of  ” stress shooting” scenarios and Immediate Action Drills.

The course will introduce the student to theories of close combat and urban movement for home defense using the shoot house.

Students will learn: Alternate shooting positions to be used in modern combat environments, Slow and Methodical vs. Dynamic room entries using single man and buddy teams.

( Weapons lights, gloves and ballistic eye protection are required and Body Armor with Plates highly recommended!)

 

Advanced Carbine II

 

This course will expose the students to low light/night shooting on the flat range in preparation for moving to the shoot house. Students will also conduct several immediate action drills in low light scenarios to gain confidence in their skills and equipment.

Students will learn and demonstrate: safe weapons handling and employment in a low light situation beginning with simple drills and ending with the Culmination Training Exercise. This course will move through day light hours well into the night with students demonstrating their safe weapons handling as well as their  Tactical and Technical proficiencies.
