Executive and Business Coaching

Remember the Bob Dylan song, “Gotta Serve Somebody”?

Whether you’re an executive or a business owner you can probably relate deeply to some of the lyrics.  As an executive or business owner you are a highly functioning individual who is trying to successfully navigate relationships in you career. People are looking to you for service, supervision, collegiality, organization, etc. etc.

You may like to gamble, you might like to dance, You may be the heavyweight champion of the world, You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed You’re gonna have to serve somebody, Well, it may be the devil or it may be the lord But you’re gonna have to serve somebody. – Bob Dylan

The pressures can be great and sometimes it’s hard to react the way you’d like in the moment. It can seem that the more advanced you get in your career, the fewer people there are in whom to confide.  At work the focus is on the business but when do you take time for the focus to be on you in the business?

Traditionally when people want to speak about personal matters they turn to friends, family, or sometimes counselors.  The problem is friends and family usually aren’t objective about your career and counselors are trained to treat individuals with emotional problems.  If you find yourself in this situation, a coach might be the right confidante for you.  As a coach, I have professional training in listening and remaining objective.  Moreover, coaching assumes you are coming from a place of general mental health and are looking to improve your career or business.

Additionally, my training in business and executive coaching as well as 12 years of experience coaching professionals, has given me familiarity with the world of corporations and small businesses that are an integral part of your life.

Your executive or business coaching will begin with a comprehensive assessment of your strengths as they relate to your work.  I use psycho-metrically tested measures from the world of positive psychology.  We will then take a look at the whole of your professional and personal life to get a baseline of where you are and then devise a plan for you to meet your most important goals.
