Norb Garrett
SVP, Group PublisherGarrett oversees all aspects of Source Interlink Media’s GrindMedia. Additionally, he is responsible for SIM’s Home Tech and Marine Groups. Prior to joining Source Interlink, Garrett served as editorial director at Miller Publishing Group, where he oversaw and directed all editorial, online and new media efforts for Tennis, Smash, Spin, Vibe and Where magazines.
Before that, Garrett was VP Group Publisher/Editorial Director for Primedia, which he joined in 2001 after serving as creative director at EMAP Metro Sports Group. He joined Petersen Publishing in 1997 as Sport magazine’s editor in chief.
Greg Morrow
VP, DigitalGreg Morrow brings over fifteen years of Internet media, product innovation and digital operating experience to GrindMedia. Greg co-founded Grind Networks in 2005 and grew it to become the largest digital action sports media company. Its flagship property GrindTV.com is the official action sports partner of Yahoo!. In October 2010, Grind Networks was acquired by Source Interlink media and combined with the iconic action sports brands including Surfer, Powder and Skateboarder. Prior to founding Grind Networks, Morrow served as General Manager of the Yahoo! Music International properties. Prior to his station as GM of Yahoo! Music International, Morrow served as Director of Product Strategy and Marketing for the Yahoo! Music domestic site. Prior to LAUNCH Media’s acquisition by Yahoo!, Greg served as LAUNCH’s Vice President/Executive Producer, managing the company’s Internet business unit. He initially joined LAUNCH Media following LAUNCH’s acquisition of MUSICVIDEOS.COM, the start-up he both founded and lead as CEO. The company was the first to license music videos from record labels to stream on-demand. Mr. Morrow earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Chris Engelsman
Director, Print Sales StrategyChris Engelsman is a 20-year veteran of the action sports industry. As a former pro snowboarder he traveled the globe competing and searching for the best conditions. Before joining GrindMedia Engelsman helped co-found Elevation Snowboards with Bert LaMar. Five years later he was hired as SNOWBOARDER’s Publisher where he helped increase advertising each year.
Elisabeth Murray
Director, Digital Sales StrategyPrior to joining GrindMedia, Elisabeth honed her skills at Yahoo!, where she was responsible for the creation of successful anchor sales programs for Yahoo! Music. In this role, Elisabeth helped generate tens of millions of brand advertising dollars from a long list of Fortune 500 companies, including Nissan, Pepsi, Saturn, Mars, Verizon Wireless and Nokia. Later, she was a key member of the Yahoo! Originals business unit, where she developed brand media packages and sponsorships tied to original programming.
Elisabeth began her online career at a number of music start-ups including Internet Music, Inc. (founded by Jan Renner) and Tonos, Inc. (founded by Carol Bayer Sager, David Foster and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.) There she gained extensive technical experience as a web master, flash developer, html coder and database administrator in support. She is a licensed SCUBA instructor, rides a motorcycle, and bakes truly excellent brownies.
Sean Nielsen
Director, Event OperationsSean Nielsen has been immersed in the world action sports publishing for 15 years with a strong background in marketing, sales, and integrated media. Sean currently oversees all event development, production, and sales for GrindMedia in a rapidly changing media landscape.
Jamey Stone
Director, MarketingJamey Stone has 20 years of action sports experience. Coming from a sales and marketing background makes him a perfect fit for GrindMedia. With 11 years plus in the publishing world, he offers additional insight into sales strategies and the overall media footprint in today’s fast moving digital revolution. The former publisher of Transworld Skateboarding, led the development of Skate and Create, The TWS Skate Awards and 360 degree content packages that span between print, web and events. If you see Jamey at the local skate park or our in the line up of local surf spot, stop and Say hello, I am sure you will be greeted with a smile and some interesting conversation.
Jeff Kimmel
Director, EngineeringJeff has ten years of web development experience and oversees all aspects of software development and systems architecture at GrindMedia. Prior to joining the GrindMedia team in September 2006, Jeff worked as a software engineer for Raytheon, Intelligence & Information Systems. Jeff earned his B.S. in Information Sciences and Technology from Penn State.
Chris Mauro
Director, Editorial - DigitalChris Mauro is a 20-year veteran of the action sports industry. The former pro surfer had extensive backgrounds in sales, marketing and retail before jumping full time into media in 1998. While his work covered all of action sports, as Editor of Surfer Magazine he became one of the most authoritative voices in the industry, which led him to books, radio and television roles. Today Mauro oversees the entire field of online action sports editors.
Kasey Kelley
Director, ProductionKasey has worked for the company since January, 1999. She started in the billing department then moved over to sales and marketing. Afterward, she had a brief stint in circulation before ending up in the GrindMedia group working in production. When she is not harassing editors and publishers to hit their deadlines she spends all of her free time with her family. You can usually spot her at Disneyland with her husband Jim, and their children, Van and Cambelle on the weekends.
Adam Miner
Director, FinanceAdam oversees all financial and accounting matters associated with GrindMedia’s operating, investing and financing activities and manages financial reporting, analysis and forecasting. He joined the digital media world in August 2008 as Director of Finance at Sportnet and subsequently joined Grind Networks in April 2009 in connection with the merger of the two action sports media leaders.
Prior to Sportnet, Adam served as Controller at Wasserman Media Group, a leader in sports and entertainment marketing and consulting where he supervised finance and accounting for the events, sales and consulting divisions. Adam also holds a MBA from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, where he focused on finance and entrepreneurship in the sports industry and worked on consulting projects and internships with Major League Baseball, Major League Lacrosse, ESPN and AEG Worldwide. His career began at Deloitte, where he earned his CPA license while climbing to manager, running public and private financial statement audit engagements in the consumer business and financial services industries.
Adam earned his B.A. in Business Economics from University of California, Santa Barbara. He and his wife Callie are the proud new parents of Abby Grace Miner.
