#UnitedGA Workgroup 3/12/12 proposal
The #UnitedGA workgroup met on 3/12/12 to finalize what we'd like to see from #UnitedGA on 3/17. This is to be presented to General Assembly tonight, 3/13/12. Here's what we've come up with, from the ideas submitted during our breakout sessions, along with consideration of groups which have already submitted their topics. One such topic is from Occupy Austin being Monsanto and #OccupyFood. The group believes that in order to keep discussions consise and on topic, we could best use our time by discussing topics that coincide.
Our topic: Sustainable living.
Our topic in the form of a question to acquire national sentiment: "Is sustainable living a viable solution to the various socioeconomic problems and food crises we face?"
-Occupy SD will then suggest 10 minute discussions with reportbacks from each participating GA on their sustainability projects, so that we can gather knowledge and intelligence and ideas from each assembly. Occupy SD would be willing to give a quick 3-5 minute presentation of what we've been doing and what we've got planned for sustainability and the wellness of our communities. (We can allow for procedural consensus to do so, if participating GA's were more comfortable with that).
-Occupy SD will also suggest that we take 10 to 15 minutes for brainstorming more ideas for national actions against Monsanto. (procedural consensus can be requested for this as well.)
-OccupySD would consent to 90% modified consensus for procedural/structure purposes only, NOT regarding sentiment.
-4PM PST starting time is fine for OccupySD.

Proposal passed with one
Proposal passed with one minor change - we'd make a 5-10 minute presentation on our sustainability projects as well as educate people about the biggest sustainability offenders.
Since occupy san diego won't need to have the discussion group, we would offer to report on what other assemblies post or say in regards to the topic.
An idea for the presentation is to have global rev to stream our GA so others can tune in.
Personally, I'd like to make sure we don't dominate the GA. Essentially, the question for sentiment is what I'd most important, but we feel its a good use of time to discuss sustainability since it is a solution for Monsanto's created food crisis.
There will be a #UnitedGA
There will be a #UnitedGA workgroup on Thursday, 3/15/12, to build a 5-10 minute presentation on our sustainability projects and where society is not being sustainable, to educate people as to why sustainable living is necessary for continuing to grow a healthy society, socially and economically.
We are going to focus our
We are going to focus our presentation on our sustainability projects and solutions rather than discussing more of the problems/why society as it's being run now is not sustainable, and we feel that since we'll be discussing Monsanto, we'll already have spent a substantial amount of time discussing one major problem ;) . This entire proposal WITH the presentation will be available online Saturday for other particapting assemblies to read. They can either use our program verbatim if it makes life easier for them, or have this discussion in a way their Assembly feels comfortable.
