The 2012 MOBO UnSung Competition
After finally recovering from the MOBO Tour, where we dazzled 8 vibrant cities across the UK with the latest emerging talent from the urban world, we are happy to report that the feedback from this extraordinary and free experience was unbelievable. Everyone had a great time and we already cannot wait for next year’s MOBO Tour where we plan to make it yet bigger and better.
What further made the MOBO Tour different was the introduction of a regional MOBO UnSung competition finalist opening the show every night. We gave artists who may have been around for years or have just started making music that break that they have been wishing for. Though the competition attracted every style of artist around, we could only pick three from each region and then put the votes out to a group of radio DJ’s to come up with the regional winners. Though they were all ecstatic about performing, there is still one question that needs to be answered, who will be the MOBO UnSung 2012 overall winner?
To answer that question, we have reached out to the artists performing on the Tour to let us know who they were most impressed with and why. We will be gathering their opinions during the course of the week and share the outcome with you.
But what does the champion win I hear you ask? Well, the MOBO UnSung champion will have that title for starters and will get a slot to perform at the MOBO Awards Nominations Launch later this year. Apart from catching the eyes of some of the record labels, the winner will have a feature written about them in this year’s MOBO Magazine and will get a confirmed slot for an acoustic session on MOBO TV.
