Ana is the generic name for An and Anneke Mertens, I also listen to names like Anne, Ana, Anna, Anita, Ann, depending on who is talking to me.

I work as a writer, storyteller and core member of Constant. For the last two years I have been experimenting with analog and digital forms of writing and storytelling. Ana Foor is my nickname when I work as a ‘speedwriter’.

Na mijn studies Romaanse Talen en een postgraduaat in de Spaanse Taal en Cultuur, leefde en werkte ik enkele jaren in het buitenland, tot ik in 1999 in Brussel belandde en actief werd in de culturele sector (redactie, pers, communicatie). Sinds 2007 ontwikkel ik een artistieke praktijk, als verteller, schrijver en dramaturge.

Als kernlid van de kunstenwerkplaats Constant, een collectief voor Kunst en Nieuwe Media, experimenteer ik met vrije software en narrativiteit (Karaoke, CIAO/CU, Kaleidoscope/!Co LAPse KoDe, De Schaarbeekse Taal/La Langue Schaarbeekoise.
Daarnaast organiseer ik improvisatorische schrijfprojecten onder het pseudoniem Ana Foor (Boektegoed, Openb♥♥r Schrijver). Ik doceerde narrativiteit en nieuwe media aan MA Media & Design, KHLIM, Genk [2008-2009] en geef regelmatig lezingen en workshops rond narrativiteit, performance an nieuwe technologie.
Mijn roman Tot later verschijnt bij Constant in de lente van 2011, een andere staat al in de steigers met de werktitel Tijdelijk buiten gebruik.
